TRIESTE, Italy – Triestespresso Expo, the biennial B2B leading international exhibition in the theme of the espresso coffee trade industry, wrapped up Saturday in Trieste with record figures both for visitors and exhibitors.

Indeed, as many as 202 exhibitors from 20 different countries of the world representing the entire caffè espresso supply chain – from green to roasted coffee, from roasting machines to porcelain manufacturers and business service providers – took part in the eighth edition of this prestigious event.

The number of visitors rose by 16% to 12,500 from 10,782 in 2014. Operators from five continents attended the show, including professionals from markets that are placing more and more attention to coffee such as Japan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.

The event took four warehouses in Trieste’s Porto Vecchio, with a sizeable increase (+15%) of the exhibition area, following the strong demand of space from habitual exhibitors and newcomers alike.

This expansion also translated into an increase in the services on offer and the space destined for side events, which include a full programme of initiatives and happenings reserved for industry operators.

The three-day fair also offered several seminars, tasting sessions, tasting workshops and courses, which complemented the initiatives developed and organised by Espresso Italiano Champion and Barista Bonanza, as well as “mini courses” and workshops for bar tenders held by FIPE, and daily lectures held at Illycaffè’s Università del Caffè.

TriestEspresso Expo was organised by Aries – Camera di Commercio di Trieste in collaboration with Associazione Caffè Trieste and under the patronage of Autorità Portuale di Trieste (Trieste Port Authority), with the support of UniCredit, International Coffee Organization, Federazione Italiana Pubblici Esercizi (Italian Public Establishments Federation), Italian Coffee Association, Speciality Coffee Association of Europe and Istituto Nazionale Espresso Italiano (National Institute of Italian Espresso).
