The first “Bondin Store” of “Cafés Bondin” in Africa, belonging to the Ben Yedder Group, was opened on November 23 in Plateau, business district of the Ivorian economic capital Abidjan, ilboursa reported.
The company aims to open two to three cafés a year in Côte d’Ivoire, on the franchise mode, and a roasting plant in Bonoua (south-west), whose work will begin in the second half of 2018 for an opening in 2019 or 2020.
The plant should roast up to 1,500 tons of coffee in the future for the local market and for export, its General Manager, Salim Lemkacher was quoted as saying by AFP.
Founded in 1910 in Tunis, Tunisia by Henri Bondin, Cafés BONDIN is specialized in the roasting and distribution of coffee (ground coffee – coffee beans, soluble coffee).
It represents 30% of roasted coffee market share in Tunisia with nearly 8,000 tons per year.
