“The concept made in Germany, with high-quality organic Fairtrade coffee from a German roastery, convinced us because of the quality on offer. It complements the existing restaurant and catering offerings in the terminals very well.

We also like the playful effect with personalised pictures on the coffee. We assume that this innovative concept will also be well received by travellers,’ says Frigga Finkentey, Retail Manager at Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH.

The robot barista is a brand new arrival at Cologne/Bonn Airport; the nearest vending machine of its kind is located 300 kilometres away in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg.

Drinks are served in disposable paper cups and cost between 3.49 and 5.99 euros, depending on the coffee selected and its size. Extras such as soya milk or syrup in the flavours caramel, vanilla, chai tea or, depending on the season, coconut, marshmallow, peppermint or pumpkin are also available for an extra charge.

One vending machine is located centrally in the publicly accessible part of Terminal 2 directly under the new green plant wall on the departures level, the other at baggage reclaim.
