MILAN – UCC Coffee UK & Ireland, has been awarded a Grade A rating in its latest British Retail Consortium audit. The roastery, based in Dartford, Kent, achieved the rating following a rigorous three-day inspection. The British Retail Consortium (BRC) is the leading trade association for UK retailing, and its standards are recognised internationally as marks of quality. The grade ‘A’ rating is awarded to sites with exceptional site standards.
Elaine Swift, regional director (North), UCC Coffee Europe commented: “This is a significant achievement for our Dartford Roastery and once again gives our systems and procedures an exceptional seal of approval.
It’s been a challenging few months due to Covid-19, so it’s important our customers can continue to have confidence in our service and products. Being re-awarded a Grade A accreditation from the British Retail Consortium is further endorsement of our capabilities and commitment to quality.”
In June 2019, UCC Coffee announced plans for its new and improved production facilities in Dartford.
The rebuild of the roastery, which is expected to complete in October 2020, will not only increase production volume and improve product flow, but will offer teams a new and improved, modern space to work in and a state-of-the-art facility for visiting customers.
The rebuild follows a £2.5m investment to the roastery in 2015, and planned investment in 2020 to increase production capacity further cementing its commitment to its customers.
