U.S. Ambassador to Uganda Deborah R. Malac and Kigezi Mountains Coffee celebrated Earth Day 2016 by planting coffee trees at the U.S. Embassy in Kampala.
Planting trees is a simple and effective measure to counteract deforestation, and coffee is Uganda’s top agricultural export.
The goal is to plant 7.8 billion trees by the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020.
