MILAN – The Rugbycoffee CO. Limited, a UK-based coffee company, is redefining “ethical coffee” and bringing its sports-based mission to the United States. Founders Corné du Rand and Thinus Pienaar joined forces in 2020 with a common goal: “We set out to combine our passion for Rugby and our passion for great coffee to create a movement that benefits the underprivileged youth across the globe.” – Corne Du Rand.

The two founders knew that to be considered an ethical coffee company, they must do more than work towards a cause. From start to finish, their coffee is ethically sourced, fairly traded, and a percentage of any profits made are redistributed into organizations that share their belief that rugby has the power to change lives.

RUGBYCOFEE Co. Limited Movement

Corné and Thinus are old rugby teammates from the University of Pretoria and share the same passion for the game. They both love coaching rugby teams and helping players develop to achieve their goals. They share the vision that rugby, as a sport, can inspire communities and bring hope and opportunity.

“Rugby and coffee bring people together! And together we can make a difference! It’s not just a game, it’s a way of life!” – Thinus Pienaar

Charity Partners with a Common Goal

Corne and Thinus knew they couldn’t achieve their goals alone. They sought out partners with similar goals to work as a team to create big changes. One of these partners is RC Grassroots Movement.

“We are excited to partner with the Grassroots Rugby Foundation! They have been doing a great job, in their short existence, in bringing rugby to kids that would not normally get the opportunity. The commitment of the Foundation is to give kids a chance to learn the values of the game. And that is very near to our hearts! Our hope is that our partnership, with the rugby community in support, will positively change kid’s lives for years to come.” – Thinus

They recently hosted an interview with Grassroots Rugby Foundation founders, Clayton Panga and Gary Dukelow, to give their customers more information about where the donated funds are being utilized.

Getting the Community Involved

A big reason RUGBYCOFFEE has had so much success is because of the importance they place on involving their community. The relationship between customer and company goes far beyond a transaction. They want their customers to join the movement.

These two host routine RUGBYCOFFEE podcasts to share their love for rugby and coffee with their community. Some of their past podcast episodes include guest features from rugby legend Dallen Stanford, Jacques Burger, and more.

Rugbycoffee Selling to United States Customers

Rugby, as a sport, is gaining popularity in the United States. It only felt right to expand their brand into the United States. Their rugby-themed coffee roasts such as champions cup and Jouez Jouez are a fun way for rugby fans from all over the world to support the sport and enjoy high-quality coffee. RUGBYCOFFEE is truly coffee for athletes and sports lovers.
