Bristol’s changing drinking habits are apparent when you look at one of the city’s most thriving roads, reports The Bristol Post.
Gloucester Road has long been known as one of the best places to go in Bristol for drinkers. With its long stretch of pubs and bars, it’s a popular spot whether you’re looking for a quiet after-work drink, a few pints with friends or a proper night out.
But coffee drinkers are now quickly outnumbering the beer lovers on Gloucester Road, says the daily. This road now has the second largest concentration of cafes in the country, with 23, overtaking the run of pubs the road boasts.
And it’s not just Gloucester Road where cafes and bistros have been popping up around Bristol. In the city centre alone, there are ten branches of Costa coffee, along with many other branches of big name chains such as Starbucks, Cafe Nero or Pret A Manger.
