LONDON – One of the UK’s most treasured and iconic brands, the Royal Albert Hall, is delighted to announce the award-winning Cafédirect as its preferred coffee supplier within the world famous venue.

This new 3 year deal will see Cafédirect coffee supplied throughout its 6 dining spaces and 14 bars.

This will give the building’s annual 1.7 million visitors a wide range of choice from its in-house caterers “rhubarb” as it looks to increase public access and open up more visitor and bar spaces throughout the day for people to enjoy a coffee and soak up the ambience of the popular venue.

Cafédirect equipment has been installed throughout the venue and will be followed in early 2014 by an exciting new Cafédirect Coffee Baron its Circle level at Door 4.

With both brands passionate about taste and style, this new deal will see a further advancement to the Grade 1 listed building and, as a charity, contributes to its continued improvement for future generations.

For over 20 years Cafédirect have built direct relationships with smallholder growers, who share the brand’s pride and passion and that’s what makes their renowned coffee taste so good.

In return they pay growers what they deserve and by working together in true partnership they invest over 50% of their profits in these small companies to create a more sustainable future.

Michelle Aland, Head of Development Funding and Sponsorship, at the Royal Albert Hall, said “We are delighted to announce our exclusive new coffee supplier, Cafédirect, and are proud to partner with this award winning fair-trade sustainable enterprise.

As a charity itself, the Hall supports 52 other charities annually and therefore shares the vision of a social enterprise such as Cafédirect in measuring success by the positive impact in the collective wellbeing of our customers and local communities that we serve”

Tom Hamlyn, Foodservice Account Manager, said “We’re delighted to be working with a prestigious establishment such as the Royal Albert Hall and are really excited about the opportunities arising from this partnership.

We are in great company with the best international acts flocking to be seen and heard at this amazing venue.

When you have artists of this calibre and an audience that demands excellence, you need to ensure your hot drinks meet the same world class standards”

Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. Its breath-taking auditorium hosts over 390 shows a year by the world’s greatest artists.

The magical atmosphere combined with inspired artists creates legendary events. Opened in 1871 as part of Prince Albert’s vision for a centre for the Arts and Sciences, and a registered charity operating without public funding, it remains true to his founding ambitions within a modern context.

Extending the brand with over 200 events outside the auditorium, the Hall has broadened its appeal to younger, diverse audiences whilst still engaging its existing customers.

It actively works as an arts promoter and engages with partners to ensure that the events and performances inside its building create a platform offering access, education and opportunity in the arts.

It works extensively with schools and young people through its Education programme, reaching over 100,000 participants each year.
