LONDON, UK – Taylor St Baristas, known for bringing a quality coffee experience to London, are showing their support for coffee-farming families by hosting a series of fundraisers for the international development organization Coffee Kids.
The first fundraiser, which includes a latte art competition and a high-end Nuova Simonelli Musica espresso machine up for auction, will be on 19 September at their Bank location (125 Old Broad St, London EC2N 1AR) from 6:30 pm onward.
Money raised will be donated towards Coffee Kids’ annual GROW it Forward campaign. Now in its second year, this year’s campaign aims to raise $30,000 for food security projects throughout Latin America.
“We are very excited to be working with Taylor St Baristas to raise funds to support food security projects in the coffeelands,” said Elisa Kelly, Coffee Kids development director. “Every year, coffee-farming families suffer needlessly during the thin months, when income from the coffee harvest has dried up.
Projects in food security help families not only increase their nutrition and put food on their tables during this time, they often provide supplementary income for farming families, which gives them the opportunity to continue farming coffee long into the future.
Taylor St’s involvement is a huge step towards achieving our goal to eradicate food poverty in coffee-farming communities.”
Taylor St has consistently shown a dedication to quality coffee and good business, which includes socially responsibility initiatives such as this one. The events will put barista skills in the spotlight through friendly competition while highlighting the challenges faced by growers to produce the coffee we love.
About Taylor St Baristas
Taylor St is built around the craft and service of specialty coffee. It was founded in 2006 by three Australian siblings, Nick, Laura and Andrew, and has spread across London from its original home in Richmond. We have been privileged to enjoy some amazing coffees over the last seven years and will always work to support the growers who work incredibly hard to produce these coffees.
