UCC Coffee UK & Ireland has strengthened its out of home range with the launch of two unique coffees – Grand Cru version 2.4 and Orang Utan Coffee.

Grand Cru version 2.4 is described as the pinnacle of the UCC Coffee range, made up of three premium speciality coffees from this season’s crop – Mexico Finca Muxbal, Nicaragua Finca El Bosque and Kenya Thiriku AB.

Each of the individual coffees have been selected based on taste alone in a series of blind tastings, before being carefully roasted and blended to create the new coffee.

At the start of each coffee producing season, Grand Crü is reviewed and a new seasonal version created to include coffees from the world’s leading plantations.

This ensures a distinctive taste profile and superior coffee for operators wanting to keep menus exciting and appeal to discerning coffee drinkers.

Orang Utan Coffee is a 100% Sumatran Arabica single origin coffee that directly protects critically endangered Sumatran orangutans.

Exclusive to UCC Coffee in the UK, the high-quality, aromatic coffee provides a premium taste while providing funding for local farmers and The Orang Utan

Coffee Project
Following a successful launch of Orang Utan Coffee in Waitrose earlier this year, the ethical coffee is now available to foodservice operators.

Elaine Higginson, managing director, UCC Coffee UK & Ireland comments: “These two new coffees are very different but are both full of character, complexity and extraordinary flavour.

The launch of both Orang Utan Coffee and our new Grand Crü blend is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver great coffee that’s seasonal, on trend and meets the high demands of today’s consumers.”

UCC Coffee UK & Ireland launched Grand Cru version 2.4 and Orang Utan Coffee at The European Coffee Symposium on 24-26 November 2014. Both coffees are available in 10 x 500g packs
