ORLANDO, Fla. – Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen, the 34-year leader in specialty coffee, today announced a strategic focus on its consumer products business with a line-up of new products and technologies.

The company is bringing new talent on board to penetrate retail channels and enhance marketing communications programs to reach business and consumer audiences – further solidifying its leadership role in the coffee industry.

In the product pipeline, the company has developed a Keurig®-compatible*, innovative single-serve product assortment, driven by proprietary flavors and first-to-market patented product technology which produces the highest-quality cup of coffee in the single-serve category.

The company will also launch a category-changing, single-serve liquid coffee product with portability and flexibility of use, slated to launch in summer of 2014.

This revolutionary new product meets the need of a fast-paced and mobile consumer. Currently, Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen has successful products at thousands of retail stores in 30 states, including Publix®, Walmart®, Winn-Dixie® and Sweetbay®, and is positioned to deepen and broaden its reach with this unique selection of innovative products.

“Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen is strategically developing the organization to aggressively grow the company’s consumer products business with market-leading, single-serve products that exploit the white space that no other competitor occupies,” said Jonathan Smiga, CEO of Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen.

“We significantly grew revenues in 2013, virtually doubling our 2012 revenues. Now with this amplified focus and innovative, proprietary and patented products, we expect 2014 to produce our company’s best performance to date.”

To bring this strategy to life, Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen has appointed two new executives in newly-created roles: Scott Uguccioni as VP of Sales and Addison Ames as Director of Marketing Communications.

Mr. Uguccioni brings 20 years of consumer packaged goods and coffee industry experience from a variety of companies, including illy® caffe and DeCecco®. Mr. Ames has developed marketing communications programs for leading brands including CNN, J. Crew®, Electronic Arts, Dunkin Brands® and others.

Additionally, to reach retailers, the company has developed a seasoned broker network with more than 100 years combined experience to bring Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen packaged coffees to market with big box, club, grocery and other key retailers across the nation.

Smiga continued, “The addition of Scott, Addison and this experienced broker network will enhance our presence in the marketplace and I am proud to have them on our team.”
