PORTLAND, OR – Coffee Fest, the tradeshow for specialty coffee since 1992, is coming to Portland, Oregon, at the Oregon Convention Center on October 17-19, 2014.
During Coffee Fest Portland 2014, the 38th Latte Art World Championship Open will take place with the most talent rich ever field of 64 competitors. Coffee Fest’s Latte Art World Championship Open and winners are well known in the industry and with competitors going head to head for judges.
The judges will look at 5 specific areas for scoring the Latte including the beauty of the Latte, the definition, the color infusion, the degree of difficulty and creativity, and the speed at which the barista makes the drink.
The first prize winner receives the accolades of winning as well as $2,000.00. Second place receives $1,000.00 and third place takes home $500.00.
For the past 14 years, the contest is performed three times a year at each of the three Coffee Fest Trade Shows in the U.S. and beginning last year the competition is now produced annually in Tokyo, Japan.
“We are thrilled at the overwhelming responses we have received for our final Latte Art competition of 2014 in Portland, OR,” said David Heilbrunn.
“Each year and at each show it is exciting to see the continued evolution that takes place and to see the competitors come out and perform head to head.”
ABOUT COFFEE FEST – Coffee Fest has been celebrating coffee long before coffee was “hot”. In 1992, they gathered coffee professionals together in Seattle for their first coffee festival. After several years of hosting thriving consumer events, Coffee Fest turned its focus toward the specialty coffee, gourmet tea and alternative beverage industry bringing retailers, distributors and manufacturers together for its first retail “trade only show” in 1998. With a mission to help attendees build and refine their specialty coffee businesses, they coupled a relevant educational program with a friendly, informative, and enjoyable trade show floor creating a successful show that serves as a touchstone for many in the specialty coffee industry. Today Coffee Fest produces three trade shows annually, strategically positioned in the eastern, central and western United States
