STILLWATER, Minn. – Dunn Brothers Coffee and Cub Foods are teaming adult for a grocery store’s initial in-store coffee shop.A new Dunn Brothers Coffee shop will soon greet area residents in the Cub Foods store located at 8150 Wedgewood Lane N. in Maple Grove, both companies announced yesterday.
Expected to open in late April, the new location will offer the Dunn Brothers Coffee experience to Cub Foods customers, including freshly baked food and coffee made from freshly roasted beans. The new Dunn Brothers shop will be the first coffee house currently available in a Cub Foods store.
“At Cub, we’re committed to giving our customers a great shopping experience,” said Darren Caudill, vice president of merchandising and sales for Cub Foods.
“Whether customers are looking for a cup of coffee while shopping or a convenient way to enjoy the Dunn Brothers experience, we’re excited to offer them this new option in Maple Grove.”
The new Dunn Brothers will be conveniently located at the front of the store, near both an entrance and checkout lanes.
The menu will include Dunn Brothers’ top-grade Arabica beans that are independently certified or grown by trusted producer partners. Dunn Brothers beans are roasted daily for a fresh, high-quality experience.
“Our franchisees are known for being very active and supportive members of their local communities. So when we were approached by Cub Foods, a Minnesota company that shares these same values, it seemed like a great fit,” said Kim Plahn, president, Dunn Brothers Coffee.
“We are very pleased that our customers will be able to conveniently have the Dunn Brothers experience inside a Cub Foods.”
The relationship brings together two long-standing and successful Twin Cities companies.
Dunn Brothers was founded in 1987 by brothers Ed and Dan Dunn, who opened the company’s first coffee house on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. Dunn Brothers currently operates 70 locations in Minnesota and 86 overall.
Cub Foods, based in Stillwater, Minn., recently celebrated its 45th anniversary as the Twin Cities hometown grocer and operates 67 locations, including 57 in the Twin Cities metro area.
It was established in 1968 as one of the nation’s first discount grocery stores.

Cub Foods and Dunn Brothers will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony when the location opens this spring.
