On December 5, Dutch Bros. Coffee and customers banded together to raise $226,278 for children on the company’s annual Buck for Kids Day.
“We rocked it,” said Dutch Bros. Co-Founder Travis Boersma. “Anytime we can work with our customers to invest in the amazing organizations in our communities that provide support and opportunities for children, we are truly blessed.”
“SMART is grateful to Dutch Bros. for this incredibly generous donation through its Bucks for Kids day. The event raised enough for SMART in the Portland Metro Area, to provide our reading support program for 11 local kids for one year, or 1,352 books for kids to take home and keep,” said Chris Otis, Executive Director, SMART.
“Thank you to Dutch Bros. for supporting SMART and many worthy nonprofits – it is supportive partners like these who help our communities thrive.”
To raise funds, all 233 locations donated proceeds from that day to children’s causes selected by local owner-operators. Organizations supported ranged from regional Boys & Girls Clubs, to CASA programs to Christmas toy collection programs. Customers came out at all stands to support children’s organizations in their communities.
“We’re thrilled to be the recipient of this year’s Bucks-for-Kids day. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Central Oregon will use the funds raised to recruit, train and support community volunteers who become the voice for children in foster care in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties,” said CASA, Executive Director, Pam Fortier.
“The Dutch Bros. ‘Buck for Kids’ event is a great way to get our entire community excited about giving back,” said Kaitie Swengel, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington, Communications and Event Manger. “We can’t think of a better way for people to use a small gesture to make a big impact!”
“We want to see all children have love and encouragement to grow and learn,” said Travis. “Thank you to everyone who came out to support these organizations and children.”
Dutch Bros. Coffee supports many organizations through three company-wide give back days each year.
