PHILADELPHIA, PA— Starbucks is now available in Philadelphia International Airport. HMSHost has partnered with the airport and MarketPlace Philadelphia to open a brand new Starbucks.
Yesterday, guests joined representatives from HMSHost, Starbucks, MarketPlace Philadelphia, the Mayor’s office, and the airport to celebrate the new Starbucks for a ribbon cutting ceremony while enjoying samples of Starbucks signature iced coffee.
“Starbucks is an American institution. It is one of the few brands that strikes instant recognition in people everywhere, and its reputation is renowned for great coffee, good food and a friendly place to hang out,” said Philadelphia International Airport CEO Mark Gale.
“Our customers have been asking for Starbucks, we’ve listened and we’re pleased to now have Starbucks serving our Airport.”
The only Starbucks in Philadelphia Airport welcomes the Philadelphia market with the pleasant aromas of fresh-brewed espresso based drinks and the inviting coffeehouse warmth for which it is well known. It can be found in the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops in the B/C Connector, between Terminals B and C.
“HMSHost has a longstanding partnership with Starbucks in airports throughout the United States and we are very excited to now have the opportunity to bring this sought after favorite to Philadelphia travelers,” said HMSHost Senior Director of Business Development Bryan Loden.
“Philadelphia Airport and MarketPlace Philadelphia have been great partners and we look forward to working together for years to come.”
The design of the new Starbucks at the airport’s B/C connector pays homage to the great tradition and spirit of Victorian architecture that defines the neighborhoods of Philadelphia.
A comfortable seating area is enclosed with Hickory panels that have been laser cut with a motif inspired by Victorian decorative elements, in a modern interpretation of the classic front porch.
With the addition of Starbucks to the Philadelphia Marketplace, travelers now have a better-rounded assortment of food and drink from which to choose. This Starbucks is HMSHost’s first location in Philadelphia International Airport and will employ approximately 30 people.
