MALDEN, Mass. – Reily Foods today announced the appointment of Jim Kaloyanides as General Manager of wholly-owned subsidiary New England Tea & Coffee Company LLC, the largest independent coffee roaster and purveyor of coffee in New England. Following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Kaloyanides is the fourth generation family member to lead the company during its nearly 100-year history.
Mr. Kaloyanides is charged with leading the Malden, MA-based company and building on the company’s numerous growth opportunities. New England Coffee is a top-selling bagged coffee brand in supermarkets throughout the Eastern seaboard and is quickly gaining fans nationally. To date, New England Coffee can be found in over 10,000 stores across 40% of the U.S. Although the New England Coffee brand is relatively new to the single-serve coffee segment, it is one of the top non-Keurig brands in supermarkets.
Under Mr. Kaloyanides’ leadership, New England Coffee will continue to roast and package its Arabica coffees for sale through supermarkets, donut and coffee shops, retail locations, and foodservice establishments. New England Coffee roasts both branded and private-labeled coffees for more than 5,000 customers including donut and coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores.
“We are confident in Jim’s ability to lead New England Coffee and build on the growth it has achieved over the years,” said David Darragh, President and CEO of Reily Foods Company. “Jim has been associated with New England Coffee his entire life and has worked in all aspects of the business. Jim is passionate about producing great coffees and providing our customers with great service and solutions. Jim enjoys the strong respect of his co-workers because of his collaborative and coaching leadership style. It is also fitting to have a Kaloyanides, a member of the founding family of New England Coffee, at the helm of this great company as it is set to mark its 100th anniversary in 2016.
