US – Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company announces opening of new Seattle office and improved logistics capabilities

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada – Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company (SWDCC), a subsidiary of Ten Peaks Coffee Company Inc., today (Oct. 8, 2014) announced that it has opened an office in Seattle, WA. From here, the company will carry on purchasing excellent conventional, certified organic and socially responsible coffees for decaffeination. David Kastle, SWDCC’s Vice President of Trading for the past five years, will lead the Seattle team. He is joined by Coffee Trader Sarah Kluth, who has worked in the specialty coffee industry for more than a decade. Most recently, she acted as Director of Green Coffee with Intelligentsia Coffee, a leader in the growth of specialty coffee in the US over the past decade. Rounding out the Seattle Office Team is Anthony Truscello who brings a wide range of coffee experience including solid logistics and inventory management skills. As Green Coffee Coordinator he is responsible for tracking inbound green coffee as well as providing essential support to coffee procurement, inbound logistics and production.
Seattle is an internationally renowned destination for the specialty coffee industry,” said Kastle. “Having a base in Seattle will allow SWDCC to interact more closely with coffee producers, importers and a tremendous number of current and future customers.
Concurrent with the Seattle opening, SWDCC has improved its logistics and customer management capabilities.
Demand for SWDCC’s high-quality, 100% chemical free decaffeinated coffees is growing significantly,” continued Kastle. “Together with our expanded presence in Seattle, the reorganization of our Burnaby team will help ensure SWDCC is positioned to respond to the increased logistics demands from specialty coffee roasters in North American and internationally.”
SWDCC is addressing the heightened demand for its coffee is by adding resources to its logistics group. Dorota Impert has been promoted to Logistics Supervisor, managing inbound and outbound traffic, customs and order distribution. Deepika Bilkhu with over 10 years’ freight forwarding experience, is now onboard in a new position as Logistics Analyst.
Being proficient in the movement of coffee in and out of our facility and all over the world is critical to customer order fulfillment,” says Impert. “Our team is strongly aligned with service and customer management to ensure we meet our customers’ expectations.
Deana McCutcheon has been promoted to a new role as SWDCC’s Customer Service Manager. With strong experience in order management and delivering exceptional service, she will lead and develop the team of Customer Relationship Specialists who will directly handle the increased demand for SWDCC’s high-quality, 100% chemical-free decaffeinated coffees. Joining the team is Christine Kesler who has worked in the coffee industry for over a decade. This group is solidly positioned to ensure the company’s legendary customer service continues.
Mike Strumpf has been promoted to a new role as Director of Coffee and reports to David Kastle. Mike brings more than 10 years’ industry experience to this role, in which he will oversee green and decaffeinated coffee quality control, contract management, certification management, inbound Full Container Load logistics and production fulfillment. Anthony Truscello will report to Mike.

Andrea Piccolo, Brand Manager, and a 12-year veteran of the specialty coffee industry, will direct SWDCC’s marketing initiatives with a focus on continuing to bring effective and engaging SWISS WATER brand communication tools to the trade.
