Marley Coffee has recently been recognized for the recyclable RealCup, a sustainable and easy-to-recycle single-serve capsule that’s compatible with most Keurig K-Cup machines.

With recent concerns about the K-Cup’s negative impact on the environment, Marley Coffee has seized the opportunity to speak out about the brand and the recyclable RealCup in recent interviews with MSNBC’s “NewsNation with Tamron Hall,” FOX Business’s “Varney & Company,” and Bloomberg “Market Makers.”

“When I got into this business, I wanted to do something for the community—both around our coffee farm and for the worldwide community as a whole,” said Rohan Marley, Chairman of Marley Coffee.

“In life you have to put yourself forward. You have to plant the seeds and watch yourself grow. Our recyclable RealCup is a sustainable solution that will benefit all communities and we’re proud of the recognition for our commitment to sustainability and the new packaging that will help call out this benefit to consumers.”

“We estimate that over 10 billion single-serve capsules are discarded in landfills annually in North America alone,” said Brent Toevs, CEO of Marley Coffee.

“With the introduction of the recyclable RealCup™, we believe that we are providing a game-changing, sustainable solution that consumers have been demanding without compromising taste or quality.

Marley Coffee is thrilled to be leading the category in sustainability by bringing the recyclable RealCup to market this summer.

We estimate that if we can convince 1% of the market to switch to our RealCup, we can keep 100 million capsules out of landfills. From a business perspective this has the potential to more than double our projected gross sales. For us it’s good business, but more than that, it’s also the right business.”

Marley Coffee is the first premium coffee brand to bring the recyclable RealCup to market, five years ahead of industry giants.

The recyclable RealCup technology created by strategic partner Mother Parkers was recently recognized as a winner of the Frost & Sullivan 2015 Manufacturing Leadership Awards in both New Product Leadership and Engineering & Production Technology Leadership for embracing and accelerating breakthrough innovation.

The recyclable RealCup was also recognized by the Specialty Coffee Association of America as the Winner of Best New Product—Sustainability—SCAA 2015 as well as a recipient of the 2015 People’s Choice Award—Sustainability—SCAA 2015. These awards further reinforce the importance of the launch of recyclable RealCup™.

Furthering the brand’s sustainability efforts, Marley Coffee also donates one cent of every single-serve capsule sold to Water Wise Coffee, an initiative dedicated to improving water quality in coffee-producing countries around the world. Starting in Ethiopia, Water Wise Coffee is helping to convert wet mills with vetiver grass wetlands in the Sidama region’s Kolla River.

In addition to collecting accolades for the recyclable RealCup Marley Coffee’s “Buffalo Soldier” Dark Roast has recently been named a winner of Clean Eating magazine’s 2015 Clean Choice Awards in the Breakfast category.

Marley Coffee has recently been featured in Harper’s Bazaar India, InStyle magazine online and Food & Wine online.
