CHICAGO – NAMA’s Government Affairs Division is excited to announce its first annual industry-wide Washington, DC advocacy event – NAMA Takes the Hill 2015, taking place July 21 – July 22, 2015.

Led by event co-chairs and vending operators, Jeff Smith of All Star Services and Todd Elliott of Tomdra, the NAMA Fly-In invites all industry members to attend and make your voice heard on Capitol Hill through meetings with your Senators and Representatives.

NAMA Takes the Hill 2015 is designed to bring the vending and refreshment services industry to Washington to meet with their legislators and stress the importance of the industry in each congressional district.

The goal is to make the industry’s presence known on Capitol Hill and educate Members of Congress on the industry through first-hand stories from industry leaders about their impact within each congressional district.

NAMA has launched the registration site and participants are encouraged to secure their space for this important advocacy event by visiting www.namavoice.org/2015flyin.

“The overall goal of the event is clear: building and strengthening relationships between industry leaders and their Members of Congress,” said Eric Dell, NAMA’s SVP of Government Affairs.

“It is important that the industry steps up to the plate and attends this event. Everyone is invited, and no previous experience with advocacy efforts or meeting with elected officials is needed.

Education and training will be provided at the event for participants to ensure that everyone is comfortable before meeting with their legislators,” Dell concluded.

“The Washington, DC Fly-In provides the opportunity for NAMA members to be directly involved in the advocacy process in D.C. and expand the association’s influence, which is crucial to our industry’s success,” said Jeff Smith, NAMA’s Government Affairs Committee Chair and Event Co-Chair.

“Personal meetings with Members of Congress and their staffs are the most impactful and effective way for industry members to educate elected officials on our industry. I urge everyone in the industry to attend this important kick-off event in Washington, DC,” said Todd Elliott, NAMA Board of Directors Member and Event Co-Chair.
