Dr. Sidiki Cissé, an expert in the agricultural sector from Côte d’Ivoire, has been appointed as a new member of the UTZ Certified Supervisory Board.
The Supervisory Board is a multi-stakeholder body, consisting of members representing producers, the supply chain (including brands, processors, trade, and retailers), civil society/non-governmental organizations and representative trade unions.
Born and working in Côte d’Ivoire, Dr. Sidiki Cissé is General Manager of ANADER, the ‘Agence Nationale d’Appui au Développement Rural’ (National Agency for Rural Development Support).
Next to its central position in the Ivorian agricultural sector in general, ANADER plays an important role in the training of cooperatives and farmers in cocoa.
It has a broad reach in the country and is a respected implementation partner for various large programs in the cocoa sector.
Dr. Cissé held several positions within ANADER, ultimately becoming General Manager in 2011. With his vast experience in the agricultural sector and in the Ivoirian public sector in general, Dr. Sidiki Cissé’s expertise and proven leadership witll be a valuable addition to the UTZ Certified Supervisory Board.
Educated as a veterinarian at several Belgian universities, Dr. Cissé holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science from the Tropical Prince Leopold Institute in Antwerp and in Veterinary Medicine from L’Université de Liege.
In Côte d’Ivoire, he worked as a Director at SODEPRA (Society of Development of Animal Production), after which he joined ANADER.
