MILAN – During Host 2017, Varesina Caffè aims at finding out the ideal coffee combinations in a dedicated location, with the goal of enhancing the aroma of its coffee blends.

The stand C38, located in hall 22, has been transformed by the company in a peculiar location: the main feature is represented by the dining table, with the aim of welcoming guests in search of brand new experiences related to the coffee sector and gastronomy.

Over the last year, the coffee roasting company based in Varese, Italy has been selecting a complete menu focused on coffee-food, enhancing the particular features of its five coffee blends.

The challenge is represented by the choice of embracing a cultural approach analogous to the one adopted when selecting a specific type of wine for different dishes.

Starting from the organoleptic features of the different coffee blends, Bruno Albini owner of the Hosteria da Bruno (Varese), assisted by one of his chefs, has selected five different gastronomic proposals that could reciprocally enrich the characteristics of the various blends.

The Varesina dining table invitation originates from an ambitious but arduous idea due to the complexity of coffee; various cup-tests are in fact necessary before obtaining the perfect final result.

However, the recent experience at the Internorga Gastronomy 2017 is in line with the company’s vision, putting into the limelight the absolute pleasantness of this taste itinerary.

Therefore, this event has been imported to a country with ideal geographical setting, Italy.

It has the objective of enabling restaurant owners to select the most suitable coffee blends according to their own gastronomic offer.Varesina Caffè is opening its table to enthusiasts and professionals of the sector, offering a daily menu starting with the combination of the SILVER blend and a spicy biscuit with cream cheese and mandarin jelly, followed by the TOP QUALITY blend with pumpkin and liquorice, the MARTIN blend with white chocolate mousse and fruit passion sauce, the PLATA blend accompanied by marinated foie gras, puntarelle salad and coffee crumbs, concluding with a special tiramisu dessert combined with the JUNIOR blend.

During the whole duration of Host 2017, guests will have the opportunity of tasting the entire product line of Varesina branded coffee blends, obtained by an accurate selection from 20 individual origins and mixed with devoted attention according to the family tradition.

These top-level products, served on a daily basis in bars and cafeterias, owe their origin to the establishment located in Varese; where the owners well know how to integrate a forefront regarding raw materials and artisan roasting with great passion.

Varesina Caffè: a History of passion

The first cup of Varesina Caffè was served up in 1919 when the little coffee house set up the activity in the centre of Varese.

The aim of serving an “always-excellent” coffee was kept up by the company and went on growing thanks to  strong, authentic values.

Abramo Maffina, the father of the actual owners of Varesina Caffe’, Paolo e Stefano Maffina, has looked after his activity with great humbleness, dedication and skills and with a view to the future, leaving to his own children a deep knowledge of coffee but above all, a big dream.

In 1994 the coffee house was moved to a bigger base, a little farther from the city and improved and certified its machinery, so affirming itself as a commercial reality in the made-in-Italy sector of coffee and “espresso”.

Green coffee, already accurately selected, arrives in jute sacks at the Varesina coffee warehouse.

Here, after a further process of decrusting and selection of raw materials, stockage in 20 separate containers is carried out, each container being used for a different type of coffee purchased.

At the end, roasting is carried out according to the original artisan recipe of old times but with the support of an integrated system of technology and avanguard machinery.
