It’s a three days of diverse workshops, inspiring seminars, hands-on roasting experience and challenges aimed at connecting and developing roasters from across Europe.
It’s the Roaster Camp 2016 produced by the Roaster Guild of Europe and supported by Victoria Arduino. On October 6-8 the city of Pärnu (Estonia) will host a compulsory event in the diary of European roasters.
Attendees can select and take part to a range of interesting workshops including roasting, green coffee, and sensory, all taking inspiration from the SCAE Coffee Diploma System.
Afternoon seminars and round-table discussions on a broad range of topics related to roasting will give delegates the opportunity to debate and share their practices, encouraging development and strengthening the network at camp. Here the program.
Adding to the fun and chance to demonstrate your skills will be the team roasting and sensory challenges with VA388 Black Eagle and Mythos One. The final assessment and winners presentation to close day three will send delegates home on a high.
About Roaster Guild of Europe: RGE is a new trade guild of the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) dedicated to develop the specialty roasting profession through education, connectivity, and leadership.
Through events and online platforms, it aims to build a quality-focused roaster community that promotes and shares roasting expertise and professional education as well as inspires and engages with the wider specialty coffee community.
RGE is the second guild —after Barista Guild of Europe (BGE)— that is founded as part of SCAE, and is led by an international workgroup of coffee professionals.
It was launched in Dublin at World of Coffee in June, presenting its inaugural European Roaster Camp, to take place in Estonia, 6—8 October.
