Singer Robbie Williams has appeared, dressed in a black-tie dinner suit in the promo film for Swiss coffee brand Café Royal.
A statement which appears alongside the advert says: “The world of coffee pleasures has a new secret agent – in the service of good taste. His secret formula: Royal. Café Royal. Here is the first trailer of our upcoming brand saga.”
Although the ex-Take That pop star is only seen in silhouette, or in glimpses as his character carries out a series of daring stunts, there are a number of references which give clues to the identity of the secret agent.
At one point the voice over says, ‘Where does he come from? Some say heaven, some say hell, some say…Stoke-on-Trent’, referencing Robbie’s hit Let Me Entertain You, as well as his oft-spoken of roots.
After weeks of speculation about the identity of Café Royal’s secret agent, Robbie officially revealed that he is the new face of Café Royal coffee in a special event held yesterday in Paris.
The British pop singer and songwriter emerged to guests and journalists at Monsieur Bleu in the French capital, where he performed Bully, the opening number from new album Under The Radar and the soundtrack to the advert.
