VIETNAM – Exports sharply down in January

Vietnam’s coffee exports reached an estimated 100,000 tonnes worth US$200 million in January, according to the country’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

This represents a year-on-year decrease of 28.9 percent in volume and 23.6 percent in value, reports the Ministry.

Vietnam shipped 1.73 million tonnes of coffee in calendar year 2014 earning US$3.62, up 33.4 percent in volume and 32.2 percent in value on the previous year.

Germany and USA were the main markets, with a share of 14.13 percent and 10.17 of the country’s total export turnover.
