MILAN – A new coffee blend has hit Vietnam in the form of an egg and cheese coffee.
Vietnamese coffee house Hanoi has started making the local delicacy, which includes egg, coffee and butter and is more like a pudding than a hot drink.
And it seems to be going down well with drinkers.
Customer Pauline Juan told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Once upon a time I drank half a flat white and had palpitations into the night, so I was quite anxious to try Hanoi’s famous ca phe trung aka egg coffee.
“I sipped it slowly, slightly surprised by its creaminess but fully expecting the sweet and bitter melange.
“I braced myself for the aftershock, but it never came.
“I suppose we learn to build tolerances over the years, which means we should never really write anything off.”
