DALLAS U.S. – Voltea, the global leader in membrane-capacitive deionization (CapDI) electro-desalination technology, has received the world’s leading water certification and listing for its DiUse and DiEntry water treatment systems – NSF/ANSI 42 approval from National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International.

Businesses and consumers should take note that this confirmation from the leading independent public health and safety organization makes it possible for Voltea to sell its DiUse and DiEntry units for potable drinking water purification in residences, restaurants, hotels, cafes and all drinking water applications.

“Earning NSF certification and listing for both DiUse and DiEntry is a huge achievement representing enormous value creation for Voltea’s customers and shareowners,” said Voltea CEO Bryan Brister. “NSF is extremely thorough – this certification is similar to a new drug receiving FDA clearance and gives business owners and homeowners peace of mind that these systems meet the most stringent health regulations for any drinking water application anywhere in the world.”

DiUse and DiEntry each went through hundreds of thousands of cycles of operation to ensure the mechanical integrity of the systems under hydraulic pressure and were subjected to exhaustive leach testing ensuring all wetted surfaces were appropriate for drinking water applications. This rigorous procedure determines that products are safe for use and that they deliver the gold standard according to NSF/ANSI 42 Listing.

This significant milestone makes Voltea the first and only manufacturer worldwide to have an NSF-certified and listed product with patented CapDI technology. The certification also paves the way for Voltea’s technology to be used in consumer products such as dishwashers and washing machines.

Voltea’s point-of-entry system, DiEntry, is the next generation residential water treatment system that uses Voltea’s tunable, high recovery, energy-saving CapDI technology to provide complete control over the quality and taste of a home’s water while reducing environmental impact. The system uses no salt or chemicals, wastes less water than other traditional purification technologies, and can be perfectly tuned to provide on-demand purified water.

Just like DiEntry, Voltea’s point-of-use system, DiUse, monitors incoming water quality and “tunes” water in real time to the ideal mineral content. Despite variations in incoming water characteristics, DiUse and DiEntry self-adjust to ensure they deliver consistent, precise water quality with improved taste for the perfect cup of coffee, tea or fountain drink.

Founded in 1944, NSF conducts extensive product testing for not only drinking water applications but food equipment, building materials, appliances and home products, automotive parts and more. This sought-after certification involves an exhaustive, time-intensive testing process that is extremely thorough, evaluating every aspect of a product, which is part of what makes the achievement of certification so monumental.

“The NSF/ANSI 42 certification and listing for each product is something we are proud of achieving,” Brister said. “This shows that DiUse and DiEntry are superior water treatment systems that meet the absolute highest quality and safety standard for drinking water applications. Our customers are worth it.”
