STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Waynes has grown rapidly during the last couple of years and has opened 38 new cafés in 2019, more than ever before in the company’s 25 years long history. Now Waynes launches a new café concept which means a brand new look and many smart solutions with an in-store bakery and a new section with prepacked food. One of the first cafés to be launched in the new concept is one of the company’s first cafés in Stockholm.

Waynes was the first coffee chain in Sweden to introduce the “latte” and was also the first and so far the only coffee chain in Sweden to be KRAV certified. Now Waynes is entering the 2020’s with a brand new look that makes the Swedish origin more clear and distinguishes themselves from the competitors. The renewal includes the interior design as well as the graphic identity. The dark murky colors are replaced by lighter Scandinavian shades and natural materials such as wood and leather.

– We are really excited to start 2020 with the launch of our new concept which will be rolled out on all new coffee shops that are opening in Sweden. To have a coffee break at Waynes is so much more than having a nice cup of coffee with a treat. It is to make a statement and choose a “fika” that tastes better, is healthier and better for the planet, and we want that to be clear to all our guests. Now we have our own identity which is easy to recognize and that makes us unique from other brands in the industry within Sweden and on other markets, says Mats Hörnell, CEO at Waynes.

New solutions and sections The new concept features many smart solutions that make it easier for those who want to eat or have a coffee sitting down as well as for those who buy take-away. There will be a clearer distinction between the comfortable seating area and the deli section near the entrance where the guests easily can make a purchase from the broad assortment of prepacked food. Or perhaps a cinnamon bun from the in-store bakery!

-There is a growing demand for easy and fast solutions like pre-orders and prepacked food. However, many people still want their much-needed breaks to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a lunch in a relaxed environment. Now our guests can order food and coffee from our extended bar without having to wait in a line and at the same time those who want to buy take-away can do it more effectively, says Mats Hörnell, CEO at Waynes.

Waynes Coffee: Digital pre-orders and in-store pickup

At the same time as launching a new café concept, Waynes also launches an app that offers a digital payment solution. With the app guests can easily pre-order and pay from wherever they are, and choose when and at which café they want to pick up their coffee or food.
