BERLIN, Germany – Next week, Europe’s largest trade fair for Speciality Coffee, World of Coffee, will take place for the first time in Berlin. Initiated by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), the event brings together coffee roasters, baristas, producers, and industry experts. Around 250 exhibitors from over 50 countries will present latest products and innovations, accompanied by a program of lectures, tastings and interactive platforms such as the Design Lab and the Best New Product Awards.
Moreover, this year, World of Coffee will be hosting the renowned World Coffee Championships in the categories “World Latte Art”, “World Coffee in Good Spirits”, “World Cup Tasters” and “Cezve/Ibrik”.

Best New Product Awards
This year’s WOC Best New Products will be chosen by the jury over the course of Thursday and Friday and will also be exhibited in the entrance area of the fair. www.worldofcoffee.org/best-new-product-competition
Roaster Villages
Around 70 micro-roasters will present their latest and new innovative coffees in two roaster villages in halls 1 and 2, and will offer a glimpse into current trends in terms of coffee sourcing, handling, roasting, brewing and sales. Portrait Country
Each year, the SCA partners with a coffee producing country to highlight the work of its farmers and the unique characteristics of their coffees. Represented by the brand Cafés del Peru, Peru will be represented as official Portrait Country at this year’s World of Coffee. With a special program developed for this year’s event, Cafés del Peru will showcase the country’s diverse offering of coffees throughout the show. Visitors can experience Peru’s coffee greatness at booth G8, hall2, attend cupping sessions of select specialties, and participate in talks and lectures.

Bwt Water+More
The quality of water plays an important role in creating the right taste in specialty coffee. BWT water+more has been working closely with coffee professionals around the world for years, to find out what is vital for the coffee making. They develop water filters that, in addition to the usual limescale protection measures, also consider the sensory properties of the filtration to get the best aroma out of the coffee.
