World coffee exports down by 3.9% during the first half of coffee year 2019/20

LONDON, UK – World coffee exports fell 3.7% to 11.06 million bags in March 2020, compared with 11.49 million in March 2019, reports the Ico in its Trade Statistics. Shipments of Arabicas saw a 5.8% decrease to 6.681 million bags. Exports of Colombian Milds and Other Milds were down by 23.3% and 4.7% respectively.

Brazilian Naturals reversed their negative trend and recorded a slight increase from last year (+0.7%). Robusta shipments fell sharply -0.4% to 4.375 million bags.

Exports from Brazil inched up slightly (0.2%) to 3.122 million bags. Sales from Vietnam were 2% down to 2.5 million bags.

Coffee exports from Colombia were down 20.9% on year to 903,000 bags. Honduras and India saw a 7% and 9.7% decline respectively, while Indonesia confirmed its positive trend with an 11.9% increase over year.
