LONDON, UK — World coffee exports amounted to 11.34 million bags in July 2019, up 9.5% from the same month last year, reports the Ico in its monthly statistics. Shipments of Arabicas rose 7.2% to 6.385 million bags. Exports of Brazilian Naturals and Colombian Milds were up 19.8% and 5.5% respectively, while Other Milds saw a 4.9% decrease. Robusta exports reached 4.5 million bags, up 13.3% on year.
Exports in the first 10 months of coffee year 2018/19 (Oct/18 to July/19) surged by 10.2% to 109.41 million bags compared to 99.28 million bags in the same period in 2017/18.
Arabica exports recorded a 12.1% increase to 70.505 million bags. Shipments of Brazilian Naturals and Colombian Milds were up 27.6% and 7.6% respectively, shipments of Other Milds fell by 3.7%. Robusta exports rose by 6.9% to 38.9 million bags.
Brazil shipped over 35.1 million bags or a 35.2% increase over the same period last year. Exports from Vietnam rose by 7.2% to 23.174 million bags.
In the twelve months ending July 2019, world coffee exports of Arabica totalled 83.32 million bags compared to 75.09 million bags during the same period last year; whereas Robusta exports amounted to 46.55 million bags compared to 43.36 million bags, reports the Ico.
