MILAN – The volume of world coffee exports reached a new all-time high of 124.46 million bags in calendar year 2018, according to ICO’s monthly statistics. This is a 5.7% increase over the previous year.
Arabica shipments rose to 78.63 million bags compared to 75.38 million bags last year, or a 4.3% increase; whereas Robusta exports amounted to 45.83 million bags, up 8.1% from 42.39 million bags in 2017.
World coffee exports rose slightly (+0.9%) to 10.43 million bags in December 2018, compared with 10.33 million in December 2017.
Shipments of Arabicas rose 8.1%, with the largest increase in shipments of Brazilian Naturals, which rose by 19.1%. Colombian Milds grew by 8.9%, while Other Milds fell by 11.8%.
