MILAN – According to ICO monthly exports statistics, world coffee exports tumbled by 22 percent in July, to 7.747 million bags, compared with 9.93 million in July 2015. Both Arabica and Robusta shipments were heavily down on year.
Exports of Arabica fell 19.2 percent. The biggest drop was recorded for Colombian Milds, down 55 percent on year.
This was mostly due to the truckers’ strike in Colombia that paralysed the country’s highways for 45 days delaying exports.
