MILAN – World coffee exports amounted to 10.98 million bags in March 2019, compared with 11.42 million in March 2018 down 3.8% on year, reports the Ico in its monthly statistics. Shipments of Arabicas rose by 2% to 6.794 million bags. Volumes of Colombian Milds and Brazilian Naturals were up 14% and 9.7% respectively, while Other Milds saw an 11.4% decrease. Robusta exports were 12.1% down on year.
Exports from Brazil were up 10% to almost 3 million bags, while Vietnam saw a sharp decline, down 22.7% on year. Colombian exports rose 9.7%.
Exports in the first 6 months of coffee year 2018/19 (Oct/18 to Mar/19) increased by 4.1% to 63.15 million bags compared to 60.63 million bags in the same period in 2017/18. Arabicas recorded a 7.1% increase to 41.079 million bags.
