RIMINI –World of Coffee, the world-level event of the coffee chain, opens tomorrow at the Rimini expo centre.

World of Coffee is the premium event in Europe for quality coffee – from bean to cup – and features the most innovative products and services on the market today.

The three-day event is organized by the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), this year in collaboration with Rimini Fiera, and, with over 30,000 trade visitors expected, over 200 brands on show, 20,000 square metres of expo space and over 50 nations taking part, has already aroused great expectation among the sector´s trade members .

Rimini´s huge show will feature three core functions to meet the requirements of various targets: an expo section, one dedicated to advanced training, and yet another based on international competitions.

The expo part will highlight every aspect of coffee production. One huge event will host coffee producing nations, new technologies, the latest trends, the most current consumption models and products from all over the world, with demo areas in which the best of speciality coffee, confectionery, haut cuisine, gelato and bakery will be brought together for the first time in Rimini. The training section on the other hand will be made up of meetings, seminars and updating opportunities addressing the sector´s key players.

The third section, on the other hand, will be dedicated to world-level competitions.

In fact, during the three days of the Rimini event, contestants from all over the world will compete on the international stage for the titles of three coffee world championships, which include the most prestigious World Barista Championship, as well as the World Brewers Cup and the World Coffee Roasting Championship. As well as these, there is also the Cezve/Ibrik Championship, the championship for making Turkish coffee.

Curiosity is rising and the curtain will soon go up on the first great events that World of Coffee will host in the intense “tasty” three-day show. Here are the events at the expo. Coffee new trends

All eyes are on the new trends in the coffee world. For the first time, baristas and bartenders will compete on the new coffee trends in the Coffee New Trends area: cocktail aces and heavyweight from

the espresso and latte art world will fight it out to the last coffee. An event organized by SCAE and Rimini Fiera, in collaboration with Bargiornale and 9bar, by means of workshops, conferences, demos and performances.

Who will come out on top between a barista who presents a beverage with a day-time theme and a bartender presenting a coffee based drink dedicated to the night? The gauntlet is down!

And for reality show fans, the “Coffee Talent Show”, where everybody can present a “show” connected with the coffee theme, under the watchful eyes of a panel of qualified judges.

Tasting coffee in trendy venues

Do you want to discover the new trends for the most innovative and avant-garde venues and coffee bars? World of Coffee will propose an ample section with demo areas dedicated to the new proposals. Esmach is betting on Bakery Coffee; Selmi CaffeSmile on Chocolate and Coffee; Cocktail and coffee is the Costa Group theme, while  AFA Arredamenti concentrates on Coffee & Co. and NIP (Nazionale Italiana Pizzaioli) presents Pizza and Coffee.

A curious fact: The Mumac bee, i.e. a Piaggio Ape (small 3-wheeled vehicle) transformed into a “Free Coffee Shop” which for the occasion Mumac has transformed into a mini exhibition: on show three historical coffee machines.

The leitmotif of all the proposals, a new way of conceiving the space with the idea of highlighting Italian-made products to the utmost: original dynamic environments in which to enjoy several products in a single suggestive location.

At World of Coffee, Conpait and “Pasticceria Internazionale” will present the best combinations of coffee and artisan pastry (sweet and savoury), with mouth-watering matches for every time of day.

To delight visitors and show the versatility of “black gold”, as a beverage and as an ingredient, every day, in collaboration with 9bar and Flair Academy, Conpait and “Pasticceria Internazionale” will propose fragrant croissants with coffee flavour dough filled with chocolate spread, mouth-watering savoury snacks, chocolates and modern sweets.
