MILAN, Italy – World of Coffee 2014 is launching Rimini Coffee Festival, a program of Fringe events organized by World of Coffee, SCAE Italia, in collaboration with Nuovi Eventi Musicali and with the support of the area’s most proactive associations.
The most original recherché combinations, the most classic and most unusual ones, coffee in a cup and in a glass, speciality coffees, mixed and matched with unusual food solutions, with a special search for taste and flavours, organic produce and traditional local products will be the key players on the three days of the mouth-watering Fringe event program of World of Coffee.
In fact, the entire city of Rimini wants to “celebrate” coffee’s most international appointment, which this year will be staged in Italy, and the Romagna city has been chosen as the prestigious location for the event.
Exhibitions, tasting sessions, shows and great concerts
As well as special tasting sessions, space will be dedicated to cultural spectacles linked with the theme of coffee, musical events in the most suggestive corners of the town with classical repertoires and modern music, thematic exhibitions of crafts and antiques on the Rimini promenade.
There is eager expectation for the concert by Spandau Ballet, who will perform in exclusively, precisely during the days of World of Coffee, in the context of celebrations by Rimini’s historical Rose & Crown pub, Italy’s first “British style” pub (opened in 1964), which this year celebrates its “first” fifty years.
Rimini Hotels, top chefs and coffee
The aroma of coffee, will also involve and “inebriate” the top hotels and beach zones of Rimini and the Riviera. In the evenings of World of Coffee, several hotels will propose a special recipe created by an award-winning chef.
On Tuesday 10th June the spotlight will be on a coffee-based savoury dish, Wednesday 11th June will spotlight the coffee dessert par excellence – tiramisù – made with the special recipe of prize-winning Italian pastry chef Roberto Rinaldini, whereas on the evening of Thursday 12th June, the more refined palates will able to taste an exclusive mouth-watering affogato made by master gelato artisan Sergio Dondoli.
Coffee cocktails on the beach
Coffee will be the real star on Rimini beach too, with the presentation of three special trend-setting cocktails – obviously based on coffee – which will inaugurate the 2014 summer season and will be specially created for the occasion by excellent barmen: Luca Casadei, twice French champion, Francesco Corona, winner of “Coffee Good in Spirit” at SIGEP, who will represent Italy at the world championship in Melbourne, and Ettore Diana, first in the ranking of the world cocktail championship.
