The Golden Bean is an annual event for coffee roasters, with not entirely undue bragging rights – this Competition and Conference is the largest in the world. Traditionally, the competition brings together experts from various fields of the specialty coffee roasting industry and professionals in the matters of competition.

Golden Bean is unique in that it invites roasters to not only send in their entries but also to participate in the seminars and judging. This creates a valuable opportunity for roasters and associated suppliers to network with each other and brings continually excellent coffee beans to cafes, markets, online stores and shopping centers across Australia.

AUS / NZ Coffee Companies are required to submit their entries each year through a blind tasting format, which will then be screened thoroughly in 10 different categories and brew methods. Roasters attend the event to participate and enjoy the four-day competition and at the conference where all participate to judge the coffees.

This is a great networking opportunity to meet and connect with industry peers. It provides an opportunity to get independent feedback on your coffee from industry professionals and also judge other coffees to see how they compare.

The most recent Golden Bean was held in November in two locations worldwide, Port Macquarie NSW, Australia and Portland Oregon, USA.
